The Sun Rises for the Class of 2027

The Class of 2027 rose early to watch the sun rise to signify the beginning of their last year of high school. 

     On Friday, Aug. 21, seniors once again journeyed to the football stadium at Antelope Valley College where they played games, ate free Denny’s, bonded with friends, and watched the sun come up. 

    The theme of the event was inspired by the Disney Channel original movie, Teen Beach Movie. This is the first of many events that the Class of 2027 ASB officers will host for this year’s seniors. Students were invited to bring their own blankets, senior jeans that were made at home, and anything they thought would be fun to have.  

    And to cap off the fun, William Edwards came to take an official panaromic to commerate the occasion. 

According to Class of 2027 President Pamela Francisco, nearly the entire senior class showed up and both ASB officers and the Senate were there beginning at 4 a.m. to ensure that it was the best senior sunrise ever.  

     Earlier in the week, seniors tye dyed shirts in AVID and made signs to take photos. 

With just nine months to go until graduation, Senior Sunrise is the first of several events to celebrate the Class of 2027. Next up is Homecoming on Oct. 16 at Uhazy Hall. Stay tuned for ticket prices and how to earn a free ticket (and yearbook and merch!) by participating in Double Good Round 2!
