Students from SOAR High School once again proved why they are leaders in innovation and academic excellence, dominating this year’s District STEM Expo and the recent Math Field Day.

Competing against top schools across the district, SOAR students showcased an impressive range of projects spanning engineering, environmental science, Rube Goldberg, Innovation and more during the district STEM Expo earllier this month.

Judges and attendees were particularly impressed by the depth of research, creativity, and real-world application demonstrated in each project. From sustainable energy solutions to cutting-edge medical prototypes, SOAR students not only met expectations—they exceeded them.

Several SOAR participants earned top honors, with multiple first-place finishes and top honors. Beyond the accolades, students emphasized the value of the experience, highlighting collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking as key takeaways.

And in the most recent Math Field Day, SOAR once again swept all cateogeries with Dante Zhang, Maximus Chang and Kiara ViDemantay winning first as the Junior/Senior team; Hannah Grandi and Hunter Maciel in first as the Freshmen/Sophomore team; and Dante earning first place as an individual.

SOAR’s continued success at the STEM Expo and Math Field Day reflects the school’s strong academic culture and commitment to preparing students for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. With another dominant performance, SOAR has solidified its reputation as a powerhouse in STEM education within the district.
