As the school year comes to an end, the brand-new 2026 Carnival theme arrives! This year’s event, SOARCHELLA, is inspired by the lively atmosphere of the Coachella Music Festival, bringing music, food, performances, and fun outfits to our campus on May 22, 2026. With the school year ending and the seniors' last day of school, SOARCHELLA is set to be one of the most exciting events of the year!

As usual, we will have our annual Carnival performances from Music Club and Dance Club. These groups have been working hard to bring the energy and fun to the upbeat theme of Carnival. Make sure to catch their performances on the day of and show your support. “I’m so excited for the performance. We spend a lot of time practicing, and I think this one will be a great closing of the year for SDC,” said senior and event coordinator for Dance Club, Jasmine Bush.

In addition to these exciting performances, many of our school clubs will be hosting their booths filled with games, activities, and food. These booths give our community a chance to support our clubs coming into the new school year, while also enjoying everything from playing new games to trying new traditional foods! This variety ensures that everyone will be kept busy throughout the day and will have something to enjoy. “API is selling spam musubi and kimbap, but I’m most excited for the mahjong games we'll be holding as our free activity,” explained Madalyn Santos, PR of API. Every club is hosting something different, but the diversity goes on.

Our annual Carnival brings together the school community, some for the first time and some for the last. As the year wraps up, Carnival serves as a chance to celebrate, have fun, and make your final memories of the 2025-2026 school year. Be sure to mark your calendars for May 22 and be prepared to end the school year with your festival style!
