The STEM Spark Festival will be occurring on Saturday, February 28, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This event will be hosted at the local Lancaster Community Center, as it was last year. This will be the second annual festival hosted by the STEM Spark Foundation. The event will be free to attend and is open to the surrounding community for all ages. Anyone who plans to attend the festival should register using the barcode on STEM Spark’s Instagram page (@stem_spark_).

The STEM Spark Festival aims to introduce and inform many young minds to the principles of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The festival will include: a panel of esteemed guest speakers, multiple interactive hands-on STEM-related workshops, and much more. These were designed to create an engaging and educational experience for students and families in the community.

Before the event, the foundation announced that it would be searching for SOAR High School volunteers on September 2, 2025, and ended applications on November 10. Evamaryl Sillas, a SOAR student volunteering at the festival, hopes “others will be able to experience their ‘Aha!’ moment.” The ‘Aha!’ moment refers to a time when someone realizes that a certain thing or topic will be what they could have for the rest of their lives. Sillas also mentions, “I hope to light that match for a flame and for others to experience that spark.” Another SOAR student volunteering, Ethan James Landicho, explains how he, “hopes others will be able to experience hands-on STEM fun.”

Whether someone knows what they aspire to be in the future or not, the festival provides an incredible opportunity to spread and present a STEM spark!
