Get ready for a night full of fun, memories, and music. On November 7, this year's homecoming dance will take place in the cafeteria. The theme has been confirmed to be Under the Sea and with this announcement, students have a variety of different views.
On the topic of theme, most students who were interviewed preferred the theme of Enchanted Garden for this year’s Homecoming dance. Austin Jourdan, a freshman, stated, “I think it would be cool to have something calm… like a garden theme, that’d be cool.” Miliani Maldonado Johnson, a junior said, “I voted for enchanted forest,"
In contrast, Luna Alcantar, a senior, preferred the Pink theme over the others.
“I really like the pink idea,” she explained, “I just like the idea of everyone coming as one color.”
Last year’s homecoming dance was a success in the eyes of many students. The promotional flyers, theme and decorations of the dance were all executed well, leaving students wanting to see a few aspects again in this year’s dance. Luna Alcantar, a senior, stated, “I actually really liked the decorations.” A few others agreed with her that the decorations and overall theme was one of the strong points of last year's Homecoming dance. Some major points which students enjoyed were the location. With it being the first time SOAR had the homecoming dance in Uhazy hall, it left students with excitement for something new. Miliani Maldonado Johnson, a junior, said, “I liked that it was in U-hazy, and I liked how music club did their performance on the bridge.”
This year it will be held in the cafeteria where it has been located in the past with great outcomes. Let’s make this homecoming a night to remember.
This is more than just a dance and together we will make lots of new memories and unforgettable moments.
