Journey Artis

Journey Artis returns as Editor-in-Chief for her senior year, and second year in the position! She began Journalism in her Freshman year and fell in love with it! Ever since she has served leadership roles in Journalism with first becoming Deputy Editor, then rising and maining her role as Editor in Chief for both her Junior and Senior Year. She is also Fashion Club’s Vice President, a SOAR Ambassador, and a member of Black Student Union, California Scholarship Federation,National Honor Society, and Mock Trial at SOAR. At AVC she is a member of Black Student Union, Umoja, Law Scholars, and works at The Office For Students With Disabilities. Her biggest piece of advice to underclassmen is to try as many things as possible in order to branch out and discover what they are passionate about and enjoy doing! Some of her hobbies include writing, reading, exercising, trying things she has never even thought of before, learning new things, trying to learn varieties of different languages, listening to a diverse range of music, socializing, drama and theater, and volunteering. She will be editing the articles that are produced by our writers and overall overseeing the program and can’t wait for what Journalism will produce in the 2023-2024 school year!
