Meet Jewel, she is a senior at SOAR High school and a first-year member of the journalism class. She joined journalism because she enjoys writing, connecting with people, and sharing stories that highlight the voices and events in her school community. Jewel is involved in the Future Medical club, volunteers at AV Hospital, and is a member of CSF. She loves being part of creative and collaborative spaces. Outside of class, Jewel enjoys cooking, watching movies, shopping, and reading books. She’s excited to be part of a creative team and looks forward to growing her skills as a writer and storyteller this year.
